Antoine Berberi's Bronzes at Paul

Report by Zéna Zalzal on an exhibition of some fifteen bronzes, installed until 3 November in the nooks of the Paul bakery in Gemmayzé: solo musicians, a cellist, a pianist, a troupe of dabke dancers, a mother embracing her children, a « Dame aux feuilles de ronce » (Lady with Bramble Leaves), and above all « the famous Elissa », « a very beautiful piece symbolising the Lebanese presence in the world ». The pieces, cast using the lost-wax method, come in three shades of patina: green, brown or black.
